Adventures in Heritage mixes all of your requirements for the Provincial Heritage badge with all the fun of a visit to Rutherford House.

Make a homemade treat in the old-fashioned kitchen, tour the house, and make a great craft to take home. Seasonal programs are also available and may be adapted to suit the needs of Sparks, Brownies, or Girl Guides.

Alberta Women in History

(Sparks, Brownies, and Girl Guides)

Nellie McClung, Emily Murphy, and Mattie Rutherford are but a few of the "Gentle Ladies" of Alberta.

Learn more about these women, discuss the issues of the day, and imagine what it would have been like to be a woman in 1915. Prepare a homemade treat in the old-fashioned kitchen and make a fun craft, all while earning the Provincial Heritage badge.

Edmonton of Old

(Cubs and Scouts)

Learn about Edmonton in the first decades of the 20th century with a tour of this historic 1911 home.

What did the first cars look like? How did people cross the river before bridges were built? What games and sports did Cecil Rutherford play? The boys will enjoy making old-fashioned treats and an airborne craft as they discover their city's history.

This program can be adapted to any age group and is an exciting way to fulfil the requirements for the Heritage badge.

Advance bookings are required for all programs.

These programs are available on Saturday and Sunday mornings or afternoons. Other times will be considered upon request and are subject to the availability of staff.
