Wheelchair Accessibility

Rutherford House is wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp conveniently located at the front entrance of the house for easy admittance. Also, an elevator is located within the house that moves visitors between the main floor and the basement allowing comfortable access to the Gift Shop and washroom facilities. Unfortunately, the elevator does not go to the second floor of Rutherford House due to the priority of House preservation, leaving the upstairs living area inaccessible to those who have reduced mobility.

Parking

  • Limited parking is available directly in front of Rutherford House.
  • There is a bus parking lane directly east of the house on Saskatchewan Drive.
  • If there is no space in the front of the house, visitors will be required to pay for parking at the nearby meters or university campus lots.
